Milkmen Take Second Straight from Goldeyes

FRANKLIN, WI – The Winnipeg Goldeyes dropped their second straight game Saturday evening, falling to the Milwaukee Milkmen by a score of 3-2 at Franklin Field.

The Goldeyes opened the scoring just three batters into the ballgame when centre fielder Adam Hall lined a single into right field to bring home third baseman Ramón Bramasco.

 

Neither team would cross the plate again until Milwaukee catcher Chase Waddell hit a two-run home run to right field with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the score 2-1 Milkmen.

 

Milwaukee added a run in the eighth on right fielder Baron Radcliff’s single to centre that drove in centre fielder Alec Olund.

 

Winnipeg threatened in the final frame and pulled within one when left fielder Jiandido Tromp lifted a sacrifice fly to left field that allowed Hall to score. However, one batter later, shortstop Ray-Patrick Didder popped out to end the ballgame.

 

Starter Noah Millikan was spectacular for the Goldeyes, allowing just three hits and striking out six over five innings of work. He walked just one batter. Ryo Kohigashi, Derrick Cherry (L, 0-1), and Kevin Vaupel each pitched an inning of relief.

 

Juan Díaz was equally effective for the Milkmen. He went six innings and gave up one earned run on three hits while striking out three and issuing two free passes. Brendan Hardy (W, 1-0) pitched a scoreless seventh and was the pitcher of record when Milwaukee took the lead. Brady Puckett (S, 1) got the job done in the ninth, despite Winnipeg having made things interesting.

 

The series concludes from Franklin Field Sunday at 1:00 p.m. with veteran southpaw Mitchell Lambson (0-0, 0.00 ERA) starting for the Goldeyes. The Milkmen will counter with right-hander Christian Young (0-0, 0.00 ERA).

WINNIPEG, MB – Winnipeg Goldeyes centre fielder Noah Marcelo has been named a West Division starter for next month’s American Association All-Star Game, the league announced Tuesday. Marcelo leads the Goldeyes with ten home runs, 36 runs batted in, and 17 stolen bases. His .317 batting average ranks second on the team. The 25-year-old is third in the 12-team league in RBIs, tied for sixth in home runs, and tenth in steals. A native of Redwood City, California, Marcelo signed with the Goldeyes January 8 after being acquired from the Boise Hawks of the Pioneer League September 15, 2025. Marcelo hit .351 for the Hawks in 2025, with 12 home runs and 75 runs batted in, leading the Pioneer League with 64 stolen bases. The All-Star Game takes place Wednesday, July 15 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Rained out Monday, the Goldeyes host a twin bill with the Kansas City Monarchs Tuesday, with game one getting underway at 5:30 p.m. The nightcap will follow the completion of the first game by approximately 30 minutes. WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes (19-23) split a doubleheader with the Kansas City Monarchs Tuesday at Blue Cross Park, dropping the opener 12-0 before taking the nightcap 11-3. Boxscore – Game One Boxscore – Game Two In game one, Kansas City (23-17) starter Ryan García (W, 6-2) was dominant. The right-hander threw a complete game, three-hit shutout. He struck out three and walked one. The three hits he gave up were all singles. The Monarchs took the lead in the second inning when centre fielder Hudson Head lined a single to left field that scored second baseman Austin Callahan. Two batters later, catcher Brady Lindsly doubled off the left field wall, bringing Head and right fielder Trevor Boone in to make it 3-0. In the top of the fourth, Boone came home on third baseman J.D. Davis’ single to left before Callahan hit a three-run home run to left field with Davis and first baseman Saúl Garza aboard, giving Kansas City a 7-0 advantage. They would add another four in the sixth. First, Head drew a bases-loaded walk that forced Davis in. The next hitter, Boone, hit a three-run double to right. Garza, shortstop Sahid Valenzuela, and Head all came around, and it was 11-0 Monarchs. Davis hit a solo home run to left field in the seventh to close out the scoring. Ryo Kohigashi (L, 2-2) started for Winnipeg. He went five innings and gave up seven runs on 11 hits. The lefty struck out seven and walked two. Kohigashi leads the Goldeyes’ staff with 48 strikeouts on the season. Willian Suárez and Quinn Waterhouse pitched out of the bullpen for the Goldeyes. The second game appeared to be a continuation of the opener when first baseman Luken Baker hit a three-run home run to left field in the top of the first inning. Left fielder Nick Martini and Garza were on base and Winnipeg quickly found itself down 3-0. In the bottom of the inning, the Goldeyes pulled to within one. Shortstop Ray-Patrick Didder crossed the plate as the result of a throwing error before third baseman Ramón Bramasco came in on second baseman Adam Hall ’s groundout to shortstop that made the score 3-2 in favour of Kansas City. The Goldeyes took the lead in the second frame. First baseman T.J. Schofield-Sam tied the contest with a single to right-centre that drove in right fielder Keshawn Lynch . Centre fielder Noah Marcelo then put Winnipeg ahead 4-3 with a base hit up the middle that brought Schofield-Sam in to score. Schofield-Sam drove in two more runs in the home half of the third. He hit a double down the left-field line that plated designated hitter Max Murphy and Lynch, making it 6-3 Goldeyes. Winnipeg added two more in the fifth inning to extend their lead to 8-3. Bramasco singled to right field scoring Schofield-Sam. Then Didder came home on Marcelo’s fielder’s choice. In the sixth, Hall scored on Lynch’s groundout to the pitcher, catcher Kevin García drove in left fielder Jiandido Tromp with a single to left, and Murphy scampered home on Schofield-Sam’s sacrifice fly to centre field that made it 11-3 Goldeyes. Mitchell Lambson (W, 3-4) pitched five innings and allowed three runs on five hits. The veteran struck out two and did not walk a batter. Eli Saul and Derrick Cherry split the final two innings and did not give up a hit. Jacob Gómez started for the Monarchs and lasted just 1 2/3 innings. He surrendered four runs – three earned – on three hits while issuing a pair of walks. The series concludes Wednesday with a special 4:00 p.m. Canada Day start time. WINNIPEG, MB – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (18-21) avoided a three-game sweep at the hands of their Red River rivals with a 5-1 victory over the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Blue Cross Park. Boxscore Fargo-Moorhead took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when designated hitter Dillon Thomas lined a double to left field that drove in left fielder Jairus Richards. The RedHawks increased their lead in the second. A balk was charged to Goldeyes starter James Colyer , allowing centre fielder Cole Yearsley to score from third base. There was no further scoring until the top of the seventh inning. Catcher Tripp Clark hit a two-out double to left field that brought in right fielder Andy Nelson to make it 3-0 Fargo-Moorhead. Yearsley added a base hit to right with two out in the eighth that scored first baseman José Sermo and second baseman Colby Wilkerson and gave the RedHawks a five-run advantage. Winnipeg (18-22) finally got on the board in the bottom of the inning when centre fielder Noah Marcelo came home on a fielder’s choice off the bat of left fielder Jiandido Tromp that trimmed Fargo-Moorhead’s lead to 5-1. Kolby Kiser (W, 2-2) pitched five scoreless innings for the RedHawks, giving up just four hits. He struck out two and walked two. Four relievers combined to limit the Goldeyes to just three hits the rest of the way. Colyer (L, 0-2) made spot start for Winnipeg, working three innings and surrendering two runs – one earned – on two hits. The right-hander struck out six and walked a pair. WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes (18-21) defeated the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 9-5 at Blue Cross Park Saturday evening. Boxscore After two scoreless innings, Winnipeg shortstop Ray-Patrick Didder led off the bottom of the third by smacking his sixth home run of the season to left field to make the score 1-0 Goldeyes. Winnipeg added two more runs in the fourth inning to take a 3-0 lead. First, left fielder Roby Enríquez doubled to right-centre field, and designated hitter Jiandido Tromp came in. A batter later, second baseman Keshawn Lynch lifted a sacrifice fly to centre field that brought in right fielder Max Murphy . Fargo-Moorhead (17-21) got one back in the fifth when third baseman Brian Fuentes scored from third on a failed pickoff attempt at first base. The Goldeyes put four runs on the board in the bottom of the inning. Tromp lined a single to right field that drove in third baseman Ramón Bramasco to make the score 4-1. Murphy was then walked with the bases loaded, forcing in centre fielder Noah Marcelo . Lynch drew a second walk with the bases full, allowing catcher Raphaël Pelletier to score. Finally, Didder was hit by a pitch with the bases still loaded, bringing Murphy home to give Winnipeg a 7-1 lead. The RedHawks got all four of those runs back in the sixth – all with two out. Second baseman Colby Wilkerson lined a base hit to centre field that drove in first baseman José Sermo. Shortstop Aidan Byrne also singled to centre, bringing in Fuentes. Centre fielder Cole Yearsley then singled up the middle to bring home Wilkerson. A throwing error on the same play allowed Byrne to score, making it 7-5 Goldeyes. Boxscore Fargo-Moorhead (17-20) struck first in the top of the second inning, when second baseman Colby Wilkerson came home on shortstop Aidan Byrne’s sacrifice fly to right field. Goldeyes left fielder Jiandido Tromp evened the score in the bottom of the frame with a double off the wall in left field that brought in right fielder Adam Hall . Winnipeg moved ahead in the third when second baseman Kevin García crossed the plate on double play ball off the bat of centre fielder Noah Marcelo , making the score 2-1 for the home side. The RedHawks tied the contest in the top of the fourth on a single to right field by catcher Juan Fernández that drove in Wilkerson. They went in front 3-2 a batter later when left fielder Andy Nelson came around on right fielder Dillon Thomas’ double to right-centre. Goldeyes catcher Raphaël Pelletier once again leveled the score in the bottom of the inning with a double to right-centre field that drove in designated hitter Max Murphy to make it 3-3. An inning later, Winnipeg took a 4-3 lead after Marcelo lined a single to shallow centre that plated shortstop Ray-Patrick Didder . That score held until the top of the eighth when Nelson scored on a two-out throwing error to make it 4-4. In the home half of the inning pinch runner Keshawn Lynch scored the go-ahead run when Didder grounded out to shortstop. Third baseman Ramón Bramasco then tripled to right field to bring home Pelletier to make it 6-4. Finally, Hall lined a single to centre that allowed Bramasco to score the game’s final run. Willian Suárez (W, 1-0) picked up the win in relief of starter Tasker Strobel . Suárez allowed an unearned run on one hit in an inning of work, while Strobel went 5 2/3 innings and gave up three runs on eight hits. He struck out six and walked three batters. Eli Saul , and Derrick Cherry (S, 7) also appeared for the Goldeyes, with Cherry pitching around a pair of hits in the ninth and benefitting from a game-ending, unassisted double play turned by Didder. Reliever Mason Pelio (L, 0-3) was charged with the loss. The fourth Fargo-Moorhead reliever of the evening surrendered two runs on a hit in 1 1/3 innings. Starter Patrick Wicklander exited after four-plus innings. He allowed four runs on seven hits, while striking out three and walking four. Boxscore Sioux City jumped out to a 4-0 first-inning lead. Designated hitter Braulio Vásquez opened the scoring with a base hit to right field that drove in centre fielder Austin Davis and third baseman Zac Vooletich. Right fielder D’Shawn Knowles then hit a sacrifice fly to centre that brought left fielder Henry George in to score, before Vásquez crossed the plate on a fielder’s choice off the bat of second baseman Jackson Van De Brake. Winnipeg (16-21) evened the score in the top of the fourth. Centre fielder Noah Marcelo tripled to right field to lead off the frame. He would come home on second baseman Adam Hall ’s double to left. Right fielder Max Murphy singled to centre to bring Hall in, and catcher Kevin García drove in Murphy and designated hitter Jiandido Tromp with a base hit up the middle. The Explorers wasted no time retaking the lead, however. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Vooletich scored on George’s double to right field that made it 5-4. Sioux City increased its lead to two runs in the sixth when first baseman Alberto Osuna doubled to centre to drive in George. Three more runs for the Explorers in the seventh inning seemingly put the game out of reach. Davis plated Van De Brake with a single to left that made the score 7-4, then a throwing error allowed shortstop Elliot Good and Davis to come home, giving the home side a five-run cushion. The Goldeyes though did not go down without a fight. Three consecutive doubles to start the ninth inning by García, first baseman Roby Enríquez , and shortstop Ray-Patrick Didder trimmed the deficit to 9-6. Didder later scored on Hall’s fielder’s choice to bring the Goldeyes within two. For the second time in three games, Winnipeg brought the tying run to the plate in the final inning, but the ballgame ended when Murphy lined into a double play. Josh Landry (W, 2-4) started for Sioux City and exited after the sixth inning. He gave up four runs on eight hits while striking out five and walking a pair. Trey Morrill (S, 1) snuffed out the Goldeyes’ rally in the ninth, recording the final three outs. Mitchell Lambson (L, 2-4) allowed five runs on eight hits in five innings of work. He struck out one and walked six batters. Boxscore Winnipeg right fielder Adam Hall scored the game’s first run in the top of the first inning when he tripled and came in on a throwing error that allowed centre fielder Noah Marcelo to reach base. The Goldeyes extended their lead to 2-0 in the second after shortstop Ray-Patrick Didder was awarded home as the result of a balk called on Sioux City (16-20) starter Reed Butz. Second baseman Jackson Van De Brake led off the bottom of the third inning with a home run to centre field that pulled the Explorers within one. Winnipeg crossed the plate three times in the fifth to make the score 5-1. Hall led off the inning with a home run to left field – his first of the season. Designated hitter Max Murphy then doubled down the right-field line to drive in Marcelo before himself scoring on a base hit to centre by second baseman Keshawn Lynch . Sioux City cut the Goldeyes’ lead to 5-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning when third baseman Zac Vooletich tripled to left field and brought in catcher Dillon Tatum. Vooletich then scored on a groundout to shortstop off the bat of left fielder Henry George. Didder led off the eighth with a home run to left, sparking a four-run rally for Winnipeg. With two out, Hall singled up the middle on a ball that barely left the infield. First baseman Roby Enríquez and third baseman Ramón Bramasco came home on the play to make the score 8-3. Marcelo then grounded a single to centre that plated Hall to increase the lead to six runs. The Goldeyes’ final run of the contest came when Didder homered for the second straight at-bat, a one-out solo blast in the ninth. It was his fifth of the campaign and it made the score 10-3. With two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Explorers right fielder D’Shawn Knowles doubled to right field and knocked in designated hitter Alberto Osuna to make it 10-4, but one batter later, Van De Brake struck out swinging to end the ballgame. Photo Credit: Tim Tushla/Sioux City Explorers SIOUX CITY, IA – The Sioux City Explorers (16-19) jumped out to an early seven-run lead, then held on to defeat the Winnipeg Goldeyes 9-7 at Lewis & Clark Park Tuesday evening. Boxscore Sioux City opened the scoring with two out in the bottom of the first inning when right fielder D’Shawn Knowles reached on an infield single. Third baseman Zac Vooletich came home to make it 1-0. One batter later, second baseman Jackson Van De Brake lined a single to right field that brought left fielder Henry George and designated hitter Braulio Vásquez in to make the score 3-0. In the second, Vooletich’s base hit to right field drove in catcher Dillon Tatum before Vooletich himself scored on George’s single to centre to make it 5-0. Vásquez then hit a two-run home run to centre field that extended the Explorers’ lead to 7-0. George hit a solo home run to right with one out in the fourth to make the score 8-0 before Winnipeg (15-20) finally broke through in the top of the fifth inning on a double to left by shortstop Ray-Patrick Didder that drove in left fielder Keshawn Lynch . The Goldeyes added three more in the sixth when centre fielder Noah Marcelo hit his tenth home run of the season – a three-run shot to left that also scored third baseman Ramón Bramasco and second baseman Adam Hall and cut the deficit to 8-4. Vooletich lined a double to left field in the bottom of the same inning that brought centre fielder Austin Davis in to score, as Sioux City went up 9-4. Right fielder Max Murphy hit a solo home run to centre with one out in the top of the eighth and Winnipeg made things interesting in the ninth. Bramasco scored on Murphy’s fielder’s choice to make the score 9-6, before Hall came in on a wild pitch to pull the Goldeyes within two. The ballgame ended with the tying run at the plate. Zach Willeman (W, 2-3) went seven innings for the Explorers, allowing four runs – three earned – on four hits. He struck out ten batters and walked three. James Bradwell (L, 0-2) started for Winnipeg and lasted just 1 1/3 innings. He surrendered six runs on seven hits while fanning one and walking one. WINNIPEG, MB – The Lincoln Saltdogs (13-20) avoided a series sweep with a 7-3 win over the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Blue Cross Park Sunday afternoon. Boxscore Lincoln went ahead 1-0 in the top of the first inning when centre fielder Cam Phelts scored on a delayed double steal. The visitors increased their lead in the second on catcher Griffin Everitt’s two-run home run to left field that made the score 3-0. Winnipeg (15-19) got one run back in the third inning when third baseman Ramón Bramasco lined a base hit to right field that drove in shortstop Ray-Patrick Didder . The Goldeyes tied the game in the fifth. First, Bramasco singled up the middle to once again bring Didder in to score. Then, left fielder Adam Hall hit a sacrifice fly to deep right-centre field that drove in catcher Raphaël Pelletier , evening the score at 3-3. The Saltdogs quickly regained the lead in the top of the sixth inning on a solo home run to right field off the bat of left fielder Jairo Pomares. Lincoln added three more in the eighth to put the game out of reach. Second baseman Nick Shumpert crossed the plate on Pomares’ bloop single to right, and designated hitter Connor Bagnieski drove in first baseman Jake Hjelle and Pomares with a single to right field that made the score 7-3. Foster Pace (W, 1-2) went six innings for the Saltdogs, allowing three runs – one earned – on four hits. He struck out one and walked four batters. Three Lincoln relievers combined to hold Winnipeg hitless for the final three innings. Luke Boyd (L, 3-2) started for the Goldeyes and exited after seven innings.
