Canadian Outfielder Hall Rejoins Goldeyes

Jason Young • March 27, 2026

WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced Friday the signing of Canadian outfielder Adam Hall.

Hall recently represented Canada at the World Baseball Classic as the team reached the quarterfinals of the tournament for the first time.

The 26-year-old began the 2024 campaign with the Goldeyes before his contract was transferred to the Milwaukee Brewers. He was ultimately assigned to the Biloxi Shuckers of the Double-A Southern League, where he hit .262 with three doubles and 16 runs batted in.

Hall split last season between the Shuckers and the Nashville Sounds of the Triple-A International League, hitting a combined .232 with nine doubles, three triples, one home run, and 21 RBIs. He also stole 25 bases and was caught just once.

Born in Hamilton, Bermuda, Hall’s parents relocated to southern Ontario to further his development as a baseball player. He was selected in the second round of the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft by the Baltimore Orioles out of A.B. Lucas Secondary School in London, Ontario.

Hall played parts of six seasons in the Orioles’ organization, reaching as high as Triple-A with the Norfolk Tides of the International League in 2022.

A member of Canada’s Junior National Team from 2015 to 2017, Hall also participated in the 2015 WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup.

“Bringing Adam back is huge news for us. He got off to a hot start with us two years ago before being picked up, and we believe he can bring that same impact again in 2026,” said skipper Logan Watkins. “We know he’s motivated to put together a successful, healthy season, and we’re excited to have him back.”

Hall is the fifth Canadian on the Goldeyes’ roster, joining Landen Bourassa (Lethbridge, Alberta), James Bradwell (North Vancouver, British Columbia), Mason Dobie (Meaford, Ontario), and T.J. Schofield-Sam (Mississauga, Ontario).

In a separate transaction, right-handed starting pitcher Ben Kowalski was traded to the Kane County Cougars in exchange for a player to be named later. Kowalski was re-signed on December 22 after making his professional debut with the Goldeyes in 2025. The 26-year-old split last season between Winnipeg and the Dorados de Chihuahua of the Mexican League. He went 3-1 with a 3.58 earned run average in seven games with the Goldeyes.

Winnipeg now has 24 players under contract for the 2026 season. American Association clubs may carry up to 33 players during spring training, which begins May 3.

The Goldeyes jumped out to an early lead when right fielder Noah Marcelo – the game’s first batter – reached on an error and later scored on centre fielder Adam Hall ’s sacrifice fly to centre. It was all Kane County after that, however. In the bottom of the first inning designated hitter Todd Lott brought second baseman Zane Spinn home with a base hit to tie the ballgame and first baseman Alex McGarry singled off the first base bag to drive in centre fielder Matt Bottcher to make it 2-1. In the fourth Cougars shortstop Sam Dexter hit a ball to shallow centre field that dropped between Hall and shortstop Ramón Bramasco . Two runs scored on the play, increasing Kane County’s lead to 4-1. Dexter would then come home on right fielder Armond Upshaw’s single up the middle to make it 5-1 Cougars. The score would remain the same until the bottom of the eighth when Upshaw notched his second run batted in of the day with a two-out single that brought in Dexter, giving the home side a 6-1 lead. Luke Boyd started for Winnipeg and worked the first two innings. Arij Fransen , Tasker Strobel , Weston Lombard , and Derrick Cherry each pitched an inning of relief, while Noah Millikan ’s three-inning appearance spanned the fourth through sixth frames. Despite Kane County leading after the top of the ninth, the bottom of the inning was played to give the players extra live game action. The Goldeyes now make the short journey to Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, where their final two pre-season games will be played Tuesday and Wednesday. Both games are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Winnipeg will begin the 2026 schedule Friday, May 15 against the Milwaukee Milkmen in Franklin, Wisconsin. The home opener at Blue Cross Park versus Kane County is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. The Goldeyes’ first home series will include a free jersey giveaway to the first 5,000 fans and post-game fireworks May 19, a magnet schedule giveaway to the first 3,500 in attendance May 20, and the first of two 11:00 a.m. School Day games May 21. FARGO, ND – The Winnipeg Goldeyes dropped a 4-3 decision to the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in their 2026 spring debut at Newman Outdoor Field Monday evening. The pre-season contest was called after five innings owing to the unseasonably cold temperatures and windy conditions. Winnipeg opened the scoring in the third inning when rookie catcher Raphaël Pelletier homered down the right field line, giving the Goldeyes a 1-0 lead. The RedHawks tied the game in the bottom of the inning on a single by catcher Juan Fernández that brought right fielder Andy Nelson in to score. Pelletier struck again in the fifth, driving in left fielder Keshawn Lynch with a single that made the score Winnipeg 2, Fargo-Moorhead 1. Pelletier then scored on centre fielder Noah Marcelo ’s single that increased the Goldeyes’ lead to 3-1. In the home half of what would be the final inning, Fargo-Moorhead scored three runs without the benefit of a hit. Fernández notched his second run batted in of the evening with a sacrifice fly that drove in third baseman Aidan Byrne. Nelson came in on a wild pitch to tie the game at 3-3.
