WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes traded infielder Dakota Conners to the Pioneer League’s Ogden Raptors in exchange for a player to be named later on Tuesday.
Conners appeared in seven games this season for the Goldeyes after hitting .235 with one home run and 15 RBI for the club in 2021. The Alameda, California native played four seasons of college baseball at California State University, East Bay (Hayward, California) from 2015-19 before starting his professional career in the independent Pacific Association in 2019. The Raptors are managed by former Goldeyes’ hitting coach Kash Beauchamp .
The Goldeyes’ roster currently stands at 24 active players.
The Winnipeg Goldeyes continue a four-game series against the Sioux Falls Canaries tonight at Sioux Falls Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. All the action can be heard locally on CJNU 93.7 FM and worldwide at www.cjnu.ca
The Goldeyes return home on Tuesday, May 31 st when they host the Cleburne Railroaders at Shaw Park.

WINNIPEG, MB – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (39-32) defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes (27-42) Tuesday evening at Blue Cross Park by a score of 4-2. Boxscore After three and a half innings of scoreless baseball, Keshawn Lynch and Matthew Warkentin reached on singles before Roby Enríquez ripped a two-run double off the centre field wall to give Winnipeg a 2-0 lead. The RedHawks responded in the top of the fifth when Nicholas Northcut hit a solo home run to left-centre field to cut the deficit to 2-1. With two outs, Aidan Byrne and Lamar Sparks reached base, setting up José Sermo, who lined a two-run single to centre to push Fargo-Moorhead ahead 3-2. In the ninth, Dillon Thomas added insurance with a solo home run to right field, extending the RedHawks’ lead to 4-2. Kyle Crigger (W, 6-4) was outstanding for Fargo-Moorhead, earning the win after 8.2 innings in which he allowed two runs on eight hits, walked one, and struck out six. Garrett Alexander (S, 9) recorded his ninth save of the year by fanning the only batter he faced. Jesse Galindo (L, 2-5) took the loss for Winnipeg, working 4.2 innings and surrendering three runs on three hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Tasker Strobel followed with 2.1 scoreless frames, giving up two hits, walking one, and striking out three. Boxscore Both teams were scoreless until the top of the fourth when Michael Hallquist doubled to right field to score Dillon Thomas and make it 1-0 Fargo-Moorhead. The Goldeyes responded immediately in the bottom half of the frame when a wild pitch brought Matthew Warkentin home with the tying run. In the top of the sixth, with Thomas and José Sermo aboard, Brendon Dadson hit a three-run home run to right-centre to put the RedHawks up 4-1. One inning later, Alec Olund lined a single up the middle to score Aidan Byrne, extending Fargo-Moorhead’s lead to 5-1. The Goldeyes stormed back in the bottom of the seventh. Jacob Robson crushed a three-run shot to right-centre field, bringing home Ray-Patrick Didder and Tanner O’Tremba to close the gap to 5-4. Winnipeg nearly tied it in the ninth. With Max Murphy on first, Keshawn Lynch ripped a double down the left-field line. But a perfect relay from Hunter Clanin to Peter Brookshaw to Parker Stroh nailed Murphy at the plate, ending the game. As this was the final scheduled game between the two clubs this season, it will not be made up. Boxscore The Goldeyes scored their lone run in the bottom of the fourth inning when Matthew Warkentin singled to left field to score Max Murphy , giving Winnipeg a 1-0 advantage. Chicago tied the game in the top of the sixth as Jacob Teter singled to centre, plating Henry Kusiak. With neither side able to break the deadlock through nine innings, the Dogs capitalized in extras. In the top of the tenth, courtesy runner Andy Nelson advanced to third base and scored on a sacrifice fly to right field from Reggie Pruitt Jr., putting Chicago ahead 2-1. The Goldeyes were unable to respond in the bottom half. James Bradwell earned a no-decision in an ultra-quality start, tossing seven innings while allowing just one run on seven hits with one walk and three strikeouts. Boxscore The Dogs jumped out to an early lead on the second pitch of the game when Henry Kusiak hit a solo home run to left field. Chicago added three more runs in the opening frame on an RBI double by Chance Sisco and a two-run single by Dusty Stroup to make it 4-0. Kusiak struck again in the second inning with a two-out, solo homer to extend the lead to 5-0. In the third, back-to-back walks set the stage for Stroup, who singled home another run before a passed ball brought in Sisco to push the advantage to 7-0. Chicago’s offense continued to surge in the fourth when Sisco hit a three-run home run and Stroup followed with a solo shot to make it 11-0. The Goldeyes got on the board in the bottom of the sixth. With Ramón Bramasco on first, Jacob Robson lined a single into centre field that got past Dogs’ centre fielder Reggie Pruitt Jr. to score a run. A groundout by Tripp Clark added another, trimming the deficit to 11-2. Boxscore After the opening two innings were scoreless, the Goldeyes got on the board in the third when Ramón Bramasco scored on Tripp Clark ’s single up the middle. They would increase the lead to 2-0 a batter later on a groundout to shortstop off the bat of Matthew Warkentin that brought Jacob Robson home. The following frame, Winnipeg added three more runs to take a 5-0 lead. Gustavo Sosa hit a sacrifice fly to left to plate Keshawn Lynch before Tanner O’Tremba scampered home on a wild pitch to make the score 4-0. Finally, Andy Armstrong came in on Bramasco’s double to left-centre field to increase the lead to five. Lincoln broke through in the fifth when Kyle Battle came home on a throwing error to reduce the deficit to 5-1. The Saltdogs would pull to within two in the seventh inning on a two-out, two-run home down the right field line by Brody Fahr. However, the Goldeyes put the game out of reach with four runs in the top of the ninth. Armstrong singled and scored on Robson’s triple to right-centre field to make it 6-3. Robson sprinted home on Clark’s ground ball to third base, resulting in an RBI fielder’ choice which further extended the lead. Lynch then hit a two-run double to left-centre – his third hit of the day. Warkentin and Roby Enríquez scored on the play, which rounded out the scoring at 9-3 Winnipeg. Eight Goldeyes had at least one hit on the afternoon, with Lynch, Bramasco, and Robson enjoying multiple-hit days. Boxscore Leading 5-2 going into the bottom of the eighth inning, the Goldeyes saw the Saltdogs rally for four runs, handing Winnipeg its league-high 18th one-run loss of the season and extending the club’s losing streak to nine games. Keshawn Lynch led off the third inning with a triple and came home on a Ray-Patrick Didder fielder’s choice to give Winnipeg an early 1-0 lead. Lincoln answered in the bottom of the fifth when Kyle Battle hit a two-run home run to make it 2-1 Saltdogs. The Goldeyes responded with a four-run seventh inning. The Goldeyes have now lost a league-high 17 one-run games this season. Boxscore Lincoln opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning. With the bases loaded and one out, Rolando Espinosa lifted a deep drive to left that was caught by Roby Enríquez , who made a leaping grab to take away a potential grand slam. Brody Fahr scored on the sacrifice fly to give the Saltdogs a 1-0 lead. The Goldeyes responded in the second when Ray-Patrick Didder hit his seventh home run of the season, a two-run shot to left that scored Matthew Warkentin and put Winnipeg ahead 2-1. In the third, Jacob Robson tripled and scored on a Tripp Clark single to extend the lead to 3-1. The Goldeyes made it 4-1 in the fourth when Enríquez singled and later came home on a base hit by Kevin García . Lincoln cut into the lead in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded, Danny Bautista Jr. drove in two runs with a shallow single to score Max Hewitt and Jack Cone. In the fifth, a passed ball allowed Fahr to score and tie the game at 4-4. Both teams were held off the scoreboard until the top of the 11th, when pinch-runner Andy Armstrong scored from third base on a passed ball to give Winnipeg a 5-4 lead. In the bottom half, the Saltdogs tied the game on a bases-loaded walk to Fahr and won it one batter later when Neyfy Castillo hit a sacrifice fly to centre field. Franny Cobos started for Lincoln and took a no-decision, allowing four runs on eight hits over four innings with a walk and a strikeout. Dylan Castaneda followed with five shutout innings, surrendering just two hits while walking one and striking out three.
