Goldeyes Repeat as Social Media Team of the Year
WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes have been named the American Association’s Social Media Team of the Year for the second consecutive season. League directors, general managers, and broadcasters selected the winner.
The Goldeyes led the 12-team league in follower growth, total reach, total impressions, engagement rate, and total engagement. They achieved those results while competing with clubs in several metropolitan areas whose populations are substantially larger than Winnipeg’s.
“Social media is one of the most important ways we connect with people who follow the Goldeyes,” said Goldeyes General Manager Andrew Collier. “Our staff puts tremendous care into telling the story of our players, promoting what’s happening at the ballpark, and giving our partners a meaningful connection with our fans. To receive this recognition from our peers for a second straight year is a credit to that work.”
As the traditional media landscape continues to change, the club’s social channels play a growing role in sharing its marketing message directly with fans. Throughout the season, the Goldeyes use those platforms to highlight games and promotions, introduce players and staff, celebrate community initiatives, and bring followers closer to the team.
“Every platform gives us a different opportunity to reach people, but the goal is always the same: make them feel connected to the team,” said Goldeyes Communications Manager Jason Young. “We’re proud that our content reaches and engages so many people across the league. Winning this award again means a great deal because it comes from people who see the work being done throughout the American Association.”
The award recognizes the Goldeyes’ continued success in building an active online community and keeping fans connected to the club throughout the season.
