WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced Monday that right-handed starting pitcher Landen Bourassa has signed with the club for the 2025 American Association season. It will be the Lethbridge, Alberta native’s fifth season with the Goldeyes. Bourassa made 20 starts in 2024, going 8-7 with a pair of complete games. He recorded a 4.01 earned run average in 119 innings. The 28-year-old has compiled a 28-18 record with a 4.12 ERA and four complete games in his professional career – all of which has been with the Goldeyes. He is tied for fourth on the team’s all-time list with 59 games started. Bourassa will be pitching for the Australian Baseball League’s Sydney Blue Sox this winter. “We’re obviously thrilled that Landen will be back with us for 2025,” said Goldeyes’ skipper Logan Watkins . “He was a big part of the best pitching staff in the league last season, and I expect him to build off that. His consistent approach to pitching is invaluable and I hope Goldeyes fans are as excited as I am.” The Goldeyes will open the 2025 campaign Thursday, May 8 against the Railroaders in Cleburne, Texas. WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes, in conjunction with Nostalgia Broadcasting Cooperative, announced Monday that they have extended their radio partnership through the 2025 American Association season and that Trevor Curl will be behind the microphone for a second year, having recently agreed to a two-year contract with the club. CJNU 93.7 FM will broadcast all Goldeyes pre-season, regular season, and potential post-season games. The upcoming campaign marks the tenth year of the partnership. Each Goldeyes radio broadcast commences with a 30-minute pre-game show and concludes with a 30-minute post-game show. The “Around the Association” magazine program will also return, and airs one hour prior to the first pitch of each Saturday broadcast. Additionally, the “Inside Pitch” off-season radio show returns in 2024. CJNU 93.7 FM will air eight episodes of the program on a bi-weekly basis beginning in January. “At CJNU, we are delighted to continue as the official radio station of the Winnipeg Goldeyes - especially as we head into our 10th consecutive season together!” said Adam Glynn , Station Manager at CJNU 93.7 FM. “As a non-profit community radio station, CJNU is only able to stay on the air thanks to the direct support of our listeners and working with many amazing organizations such as the Goldeyes. Each month, the volunteers of CJNU take their studio to a new location to engage the listening public directly with their community radio station and are actively involved in helping numerous charitable organizations across Manitoba share their important stories. Trevor Curl, a native of Bellevue, Washington, joined the Goldeyes last season after serving in the same capacity in 2023 with the Auburn Doubledays of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (Auburn, New York). He spent 2022 as the voice of the Swepsonville Sweepers (Swepsonville, North Carolina) of the Old North State League. Curl graduated with a Communications degree from Eastern Oregon University (La Grande, Oregon), where he also played two seasons as an infielder for the Mountaineers. When he was not on the field, Curl could be found calling Eastern Oregon’s basketball, volleyball, soccer, and football games. “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with CJNU 93.7 FM, continuing a long-standing tradition of bringing Goldeyes baseball to our dedicated fans over the airwaves and the Internet,” said Goldeyes General Manager Andrew Collier . “The support from the station and our fans has been incredible, and we’re excited to build on that during the upcoming season. WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced Wednesday that manager Logan Watkins , pitching coach Mark Brewer , and hitting coach Adam Donachie have agreed to new two-year contracts with the club. Watkins guided the Goldeyes to a 56-43 record in 2024 and a berth in the Miles Wolff Cup Final. It was a remarkable turnaround for a team that finished last in the West Division a year earlier. The former Chicago Cubs infielder was named American Association Manager of the Year September 10. "After leading the club to an unforgettable season and earning Manager of the Year honours, signing Logan to a two-year deal was an easy decision for me,” said Goldeyes President and Chief Executive Officer Sam Katz . “With his passion for the game and vision, the future looks brighter than ever for the Goldeyes.” Brewer’s staff posted a league-best 3.74 earned-run-average and a .246 batting average against, while allowing just 229 bases on balls. Under Donachie, the Goldeyes’ team batting average improved from .257 in 2023 to .277 – fourth-best in the 12 team circuit. The team also hit .276 with runners in scoring position and compiled a .357 on-base percentage. "Mark and Adam's dedication to developing talent and driving our players to excel has been invaluable,” said Katz. “Their knowledge, dedication, and leadership are the foundation of every win, and their impact is felt far beyond the field.” General Manager Andrew Collier added that, “We're thrilled to re-sign a field manager and coaching staff whose dedication and tireless work ethic were the backbone of our success last season. WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes released their 2025 schedule Monday. 2025 Winnipeg Goldeyes Schedule The American Association once again plays a continuous, 100-game schedule, and retains the East/West divisional format introduced in 2022. The Goldeyes compete in the West Division alongside the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, Kansas City Monarchs, Lincoln Saltdogs, Sioux City Explorers, and Sioux Falls Canaries. The East Division is comprised of the Chicago Dogs, Cleburne Railroaders, Gary SouthShore RailCats, Kane County Cougars, Lake Country DockHounds, and Milwaukee Milkmen. Winnipeg will open the 2025 season on Thursday, May 8 on the road against Cleburne. The Goldeyes host 50 home games at Blue Cross Park, including nine weekends. The 2025 home opener is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20 at 6:30 p.m. against Milwaukee. Standard game times at home are 6:30 p.m. (Monday – Thursday), 7:00 p.m. (Friday), 6:00 p.m. (Saturday), and 1:00 p.m. (Sunday). Exceptions are the school day matinee games on Thursday, May 22 versus Milwaukee and Wednesday, June 4 against Kane County, both of which are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1 against Fargo-Moorhead is a late afternoon start at 4:00 p.m., while the regular season finale with Sioux City on Monday, September 1 will get underway at 1:00 p.m. The Goldeyes host ten of their 11 American Association opponents at home for at least one series (the exception being Lake Country) and visit every opposing city at least once. Winnipeg’s longest homestand is seven games, taking place from July 24–30. The Goldeyes’ longest road trip of the season is ten games from May 8–18. Start times for road games will be announced in the coming weeks. For a fourth straight season, the American Association playoff format includes eight teams. The top four clubs (by winning percentage) in each division qualify for the postseason. A best-of-three Division Series will be followed by the Division Championship Series – now a best-of-five – within each division to determine the participants in the best-of-five Miles Wolff Cup Final.
