WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced Wednesday the re-signing of right-handed starting pitcher Luke Boyd . Boyd signed with the Goldeyes May 28 and went on to start 17 games, posting a 5-10 record with a 4.53 earned run average over 95.1 innings. The native of Ojai, California, was originally chosen in the 38 th round of the 2019 MLB June Amateur Draft by the Los Angeles Angels out of Baylor University (Waco, Texas) before returning to college. He re-entered the draft in 2021 and was selected in the 17 th round by the San Diego Padres. The 28-year-old spent three years in the Padres system, reaching High-A with the Fort Wayne TinCaps in both 2021 and 2022. Boyd played the 2023 season with the Cleburne Railroaders under Goldeyes manager Logan Watkins . He played parts of three seasons in Cleburne while also making a stop with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in 2024. In his career, Boyd has compiled a 15-19 record in 105 appearances (31 starts) with a 4.90 ERA. “We’re happy to have Luke back for 2026,” said Watkins. “When we acquired Luke last year, we were in desperate need of starting pitching, and he showed up and competed for us every time he took the ball. Lynch (first name pronounced KEE-shawn) played in 79 games for the club in 2025, batting .267 with 15 doubles, two triples, one home run, and 27 runs batted in. Defensively, he spent time at three different positions (second base, third base, and left field), committing just seven errors in 280 chances. The 29-year-old arrived in Winnipeg in 2024 after playing the 2023 with the Cleburne Railroaders under Goldeyes manager Logan Watkins . In the 2024 season, Lynch played in 69 games and hit .203 with two home runs and 26 RBIs in his first season with the Goldeyes. Chosen in the 14th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball June Amateur Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks out of State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (Bradenton, Florida), Lynch spent three years in their system. The native of Lake Hamilton, Florida reached the Class-A level with the Kane County Cougars – then of the Midwest League – in 2019. WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced the signing Thursday of outfielder Noah Marcelo. Marcelo was acquired from the Boise Hawks of the Pioneer League September 15, 2025. The 25-year-old hit .351 for the Hawks in 2025, with 12 home runs and 75 runs batted in. The Redwood City, California native led the Pioneer League with 64 stolen bases, and was caught just eight times. After making his professional debut in 2022 for the Glacier Range Riders in the Pioneer League, Marcelo has hit .315 while compiling 18 home runs, 131 RBIs, and 96 stolen bases. Kowalski originally signed with the Goldeyes May 13 and made his professional debut May 20 in a win over the Milwaukee Milkmen. His contract was then transferred to the Dorados de Chihuahua of the Mexican League May 25. He returned to Winnipeg late in the season, signing August 15. In seven games (five starts) with the Goldeyes in 2025, he went 3-1 with a 3.58 earned run average. With Chihuahua, he appeared in 15 games (two starts) and did not record a win-loss record, while recording a 7.23 ERA. A native of Ottawa, Illinois, Kowalski played five seasons (2018-23) with the Webster University Gorloks (St. Louis, Missouri). In 59 appearances (seven starts), he was 19-5 with a 2.66 ERA. He also played one season with the Normal CornBelters (Normal, Illinois) of the Prospect League in 2021. In nine games of collegiate summer action, he was 3-2 with a 2.45 ERA. “Ben burst onto the scene last year and had great success as a rookie,” said Goldeyes field boss Logan Watkins . “He’s an intense competitor and gave us a chance to win every time he took the mound. After originally signing with the Goldeyes July 12, Lombard went on to make six appearances, posting a 1-0 record and a 1.80 earned run average. He struck out seven batters over 10.0 innings pitched before suffering a season-ending injury. The 27-year-old made his professional debut in 2023 with the New York Boulders of the Frontier League, appearing in eight games, starting two. In that time, he tallied a 2-1 record with a 3.86 ERA. Lombard played three seasons (2018-21) at Gustavus Adolphus College (Saint Peter, Minnesota) before transferring to the University of San Francisco (San Francisco, California) to play out his final two seasons (2022-23). In his five seasons at the collegiate level, he compiled a 14-12 record in 65 appearances (24 starts) with a 4.27 ERA. He also spent time in the Northwoods League on two occasions, first (2021) with the Willmar Stingers (Willmar, Minnesota), and then (2022) with the Mankato MoonDogs (Mankato, Minnesota). WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced the re-signing Wednesday of outfielder Max Murphy . The 33-year-old returns to the Goldeyes for a sixth season. In 2025, he hit .277 with 15 home runs and 62 runs batted in, leading the club in the latter two categories. Coming off another year where he continued to etch his name into the Goldeyes’ record books, Murphy became the club’s all-time leader in home runs after he hit his 93rd in a June 11 contest against the Chicago Dogs. That mark surpassed franchise great Reggie Abercrombie, who hit 92 round-trippers in his Goldeyes career. Murphy added to his franchise-best mark, finishing the season with 102. He also appears primed to become the team’s all-time RBI leader in 2026, as he sits just six behind Abercrombie (393). One of the most prolific run producers in American Association history, Murphy is a multiple-time all-star and sits among the league’s all-time leaders in several offensive categories. He moved into fourth all-time with 131 home runs, passing former Goldeyes infielder Josh Mazzola (130). He also jumped into second in career RBIs, sitting only behind Abercrombie (606) with 525. Murphy was named the league’s Player of the Year in 2022. The native of Robbinsdale, Minnesota has hit .286 over his professional career, with 174 home runs and 736 RBIs. A right-handed hitter and fielder, Murphy was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the ninth round in 2014 out of Bradley University (Peoria, Illinois). He earned All-Star accolades twice during his time with the Twins and garnered a Minor League Baseball Gold Glove award in 2017. Cherry was one of the most reliable arms out of the Goldeyes bullpen in 2025, appearing in 40 games while posting a 3-1 record with a 4.09 earned run average. He also recorded career highs in strikeouts (62) and innings pitched (66.0). He made his professional debut in 2024 with the Rocky Mountain Vibes of the Pioneer League, where he appeared in 25 contests, including five starts. He compiled a 2-5 record with a 7.97 ERA and one save, based out of a very hitter-friendly ballpark in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The 25-year-old transferred to McNeese State University (Lake Charles, Louisiana) to finish his collegiate career in 2023 after three seasons at the University of Houston (Houston, Texas). His overall college record was 7-8 with a 5.07 ERA and ten saves. The native of Baytown, Texas averaged just under a strikeout per inning pitched. “Derrick is another huge re-signing for us,” said Goldeyes manager Logan Watkins . “There were big portions of last season where he was probably our best reliever. Splitting time with the Vibes and the Boise Hawks in 2025, he compiled a 1-4 record over 38 appearances (3 starts) with a 6.83 earned run average. In total over his three professional seasons, he has tallied a 5-11 record in 113 games with a 6.57 ERA. WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced Monday that infielder Ramón Bramasco has re-signed with the club for the upcoming American Association season. Bramasco (pronounced bruh-MAW-sco) hit a team-best .289 in 2025, with seven home runs and 51 runs batted in. He also led the team in hits (108), walks (63), and games played (96). After his standout season, he was named the Pepsi Goldeyes Player of the Year. A native of Bellflower, California, Bramasco joined the Goldeyes in 2024 and played 77 games, hitting .286 with 12 doubles, four home runs, and 38 RBI. He was a major contributor during the team’s run to the Miles Wolff Cup Final. Before arriving in Winnipeg, the 28-year-old played two seasons with the Cancún-based Tigres de Quintana Roo of the Mexican Baseball League. Over the 2022 and 2023 campaigns, Bramasco appeared in 78 contests for Quintana Roo, compiling a .222 batting average with four doubles, two home runs, and 22 RBIs. Prior to his professional career, Bramasco attended the University of Washington (Seattle, Washington), where he played three seasons (2019-21). He hit .275 with 21 doubles, four triples, and 46 RBIs in 111 games for the Huskies. “Getting Ramón back was a top priority for us this off-season,” said Goldeyes field boss Logan Watkins. “He’s been one of our most impactful players and leaders these past few years.
