Roby Enríquez returns to Winnipeg for his third season with the Goldeyes in 2026 and, for the first time, will be with the club from Opening Day after previous seasons were delayed by commitments in the Puerto Rican Winter League.
A native of Carolina, Puerto Rico, just outside San Juan, Roby grew up in a community with deep baseball roots. The city is also the birthplace of Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente, who in 1973 became the first Latin American player inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Roby played collegiately at Indiana State University before beginning his professional career with the Boise Hawks of the Pioneer League in 2021. His performance there earned him an opportunity with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization, where he advanced as high as Double-A Amarillo before completing his time in affiliated baseball in 2023.
During his time in Arizona’s system, Roby crossed paths with future National League Rookie of the Year and All-Star Corbin Carroll, including time together at Double-A Amarillo. Those seasons gave him experience alongside some of the organization’s top young talent before he made his way to Winnipeg.
Since joining the Goldeyes in 2024, Roby has provided a steady left-handed bat and become a consistent presence in the middle of the lineup. Entering 2026, he had produced a .312 batting average across three seasons in MLB Partner Leagues, with 51 doubles, eight home runs, two triples, and 14 stolen bases in 808 at-bats.
That combination of experience, consistency, and an ability to put the ball in play has made Roby an important part of Winnipeg’s lineup as he begins his third season with the club.
