A native of Clarksville, Arkansas, Peyton Holt joined the Winnipeg Goldeyes late in the 2026 season, bringing with him experience in the Southeastern Conference, affiliated baseball, and the American Association. A versatile defender capable of playing throughout the infield and outfield, Peyton has built his career around finding ways to contribute wherever he is needed.
Peyton began his college career at Crowder College in Missouri, where he developed into one of the program’s most productive players and twice helped the Roughriders reach the NJCAA World Series. His success eventually earned him the opportunity to return to his home state and play for the University of Arkansas, a program he had grown up following.
He made an immediate impact with the Razorbacks. Peyton batted .392 in 2023 and took on an expanded role late in the season before becoming one of Arkansas’ most versatile regulars as a senior. In 2024, he hit .322 with eight home runs while making starts at second base, third base, and all three outfield positions. His work defensively earned him a spot on the SEC All-Defensive Team.
After finishing his college career, Peyton played for the Frederick Keys in the MLB Draft League before earning a spot with the Kansas City Monarchs through an open tryout in 2025. His stay in Kansas City was brief but productive enough to catch the attention of the Cincinnati Reds, who purchased his contract in May and assigned him to Single-A Daytona.
Peyton returned to Kansas City before the 2026 season and remained with the Monarchs until August. Less than a week after his release, Winnipeg signed him on August 18, adding a familiar opponent to the roster for the stretch run.
From junior college to Arkansas, an open tryout to affiliated baseball, and eventually Winnipeg, Peyton’s path has been shaped by versatility and a willingness to earn opportunities. Those qualities have made him a natural fit on a Goldeyes roster that places a premium on players capable of helping the club in multiple ways.
