One of the most accomplished players in Aruban baseball, Jiandido Tromp brings more than a decade of professional experience to Winnipeg along with an extensive international résumé representing the Netherlands.

Known as the “Aruban Flyhawk,” Jiandido has been a regular presence on the international stage and will share the Winnipeg outfield with fellow Aruban Ray-Patrick Didder. The two were also part of the Netherlands squad that captured the European Baseball Championship in September 2025, adding another title to a proud baseball tradition from their home island.

Much of Jiandido’s professional career was spent in the Philadelphia Phillies organization, where he advanced as high as Triple-A Lehigh Valley on multiple occasions. His career has also taken him across the baseball world, with stops in Canada, the Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Italy, and Nicaragua.

Jiandido is no stranger to playing professionally in Canada. In 2019, he suited up in Ottawa in the Canadian-American Association, giving him experience north of the border several years before making his way to Winnipeg.

Baseball also runs in the Tromp family. Jiandido’s younger brother, Chadwick, has reached the Major Leagues and appeared with the San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, and Baltimore Orioles, giving Aruba another representative at the game’s highest level.

With his experience, international background, and standing within Aruban baseball, Jiandido arrives in Winnipeg as a veteran presence capable of making an impact both on and off the field.
