James Bradwell joins the Winnipeg Goldeyes for Opening Day in 2026 after a brief stint with the club during July and August of the 2025 season. A native of North Vancouver, British Columbia, James arrives with an impressive résumé built largely in the Frontier League.

James spent time in Québec with both the Québec Capitales and Trois-Rivières Aigles before producing a breakout season in 2024. He was named the Frontier League Pitcher of the Year, earned All-Star recognition, and helped Québec capture the league championship. In 18 starts, James posted a 2.72 ERA over 109.1 innings while striking out 97 batters.

Before turning professional, James attended the University of British Columbia from 2017 through 2020. His career later took him overseas, as he pitched for the Adelaide Giants of the Australian Baseball League during the 2024-25 offseason and continued to build on the momentum of his championship season in Québec.

The path through professional baseball has not always been straightforward. James endured multiple releases early in his career and, at times, came close to walking away from the game altogether. Instead, he continued to work his way back, eventually developing into a dependable starting pitcher and proving to himself that he belonged on the mound every fifth day.

That perseverance has become an important part of James’ story. Now back in Winnipeg from the beginning of the season, he enters 2026 with championship experience, a proven track record as a starter, and another opportunity to establish himself as a steady presence in the Goldeyes' rotation.
