The evening will bring together baseball fans, Legion members, veterans, military personnel and members of the community for a meaningful tribute to an organization that has supported those who have served Canada for a century. Special pre-game ceremonies will highlight the Royal Canadian Legion’s history, service and lasting impact across the country. The program will include videos representing 100 years of the Legion, tributes to Legion members and members of the Canadian Armed Forces, and a ceremonial opening pitch. The Goldeyes invite fans to arrive early and be in their seats for the pre-game presentation as Blue Cross Park recognizes the generations of Canadians who have served their country and the organization that continues to advocate for and support them. Representatives of the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund will also attend the game and host an activation on the Blue Cross Park concourse. Fans will have an opportunity to learn more about the Fund, its work in communities across Canada and the important role it plays in assisting veterans and their families. The Poppy Fund provides direct support to all Canadian Veterans and their families in times of need. Donations are raised primarily through the annual Poppy Campaign, which takes place from late October through November 11. Lincoln added another run in the fifth when centre fielder Cam Phelts singled home second baseman Paul Myro to make it 5-0. The Saltdogs scored three times in the sixth to extend the lead to 8-0. Catcher Griffin Everitt drove in two runs with a single before Myro brought home Halvorson on a fielder’s choice. Winnipeg (40-32) got on the board in the top of the seventh when first baseman Kevin García ’s sacrifice fly scored left fielder Keshawn Lynch to make it 8-1. Lincoln added four runs in the bottom of the eighth. Pomares singled home Phelts before Bagnieski hit a three-run home run to right field to increase the lead to 12-1. The Goldeyes scored their final run in the ninth when catcher Raphaël Pelletier singled home Lynch. Foster Pace (W, 3-3) allowed one run on two hits over seven innings. He walked three and struck out three. James Bradwell (L, 0-3) started for Winnipeg and gave up five runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings. He walked three and struck out three. Pelletier went 2-for-3 with a run batted in for the Goldeyes, while Lynch scored both Winnipeg runs. The loss was Winnipeg’s first since July 24 and ended the longest winning streak in franchise history at 13 games.
