FRONT OFFICE STAFF
Melissa Schlichting - Food & Beverage Manager
Melissa Schlichting is the Food & Beverage Manager for the Winnipeg Goldeyes and has been with the organization for 23 years. A Winnipeg native, Melissa bats and throws right-handed.
Melissa’s favourite part of her job is going above and beyond to provide fans with an exceptional and memorable experience. While some might think games eventually become repetitive, she says every day brings a new adventure and fresh challenges, and she takes great pride in her team when they make it through the busiest days. Fans might also be surprised by the scale of the operation: the Food & Beverage Department alone has more than 200 staff and over 450 products that must be ordered, counted, and inventoried each week.
One of Melissa’s favourite game-day moments actually comes after the game. Once the crowd has gone home, she enjoys sitting on the balcony of a Skysuite and taking in how beautiful, quiet, and peaceful the ballpark is at night. Her go-to ballpark snack is a burger patty topped with cheese, bacon, and pickle slices, and if she had a walk-up song, it would be “Summer of ’69” by Bryan Adams.
Away from the ballpark, Melissa enjoys relaxing with her dog, who also makes an appearance on the Goldeyes front office staff page. She has travelled to and/or volunteered in more than 25 countries. Bark in the Park is her favourite theme night.
Melissa has an unconventional answer when asked to name her favourite Goldeyes opponent: Mother Nature. She can be tough on the team, Melissa says, but can also be its greatest ally.
For Melissa, the best part of Goldeyes baseball is having such a great time that you can’t wait to come back.
