Jason Young - Communications Manager

Jason Young is the Communications Manager for the Winnipeg Goldeyes and has been with the organization for 29 seasons. A native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Jason bats left-handed and throws right-handed.

Jason’s favourite part of his job is connecting Goldeyes players with fans, especially children. Something fans might not realize is that his responsibilities extend well beyond communications and touch many different areas of the organization. On game days, Jason makes sure both clubhouses receive the latest news and statistics from throughout the league.

His go-to ballpark snack is chicken fingers and fries from Goldie’s Grill, and if he had a walk-up song, it would be “Where Is My Mind?” by the Pixies. Jason’s favourite Goldeyes theme night is a throwback — Dr. Seuss Night — while the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks are his favourite opponent.

As for how Jason likes to spend an off day, his answer is simple: “Wait, there are off days?” He also has a New York Times Crossword streak that has lasted more than eight years.

For Jason, the best part of Goldeyes baseball is the energy of a big crowd on a warm summer evening.
