WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes will face the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in the best-of-three American Association West Division Series beginning Wednesday, September 9 at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, North Dakota. As the top seed in the West Division, the Kansas City Monarchs had the opportunity to select their first-round opponent and chose the Sioux Falls Canaries, setting up another postseason meeting between Winnipeg and Fargo-Moorhead. The RedHawks hold a 7-5 advantage in the previous 12 series, with Fargo-Moorhead owning a narrow 24-22 edge in individual postseason games. The clubs first met in the playoffs in 1996 and faced one another nine times during their Northern League years. Winnipeg won series in 1997, 1999, and 2001, while Fargo-Moorhead prevailed in 1996, 1998, 2000, 2003, 2006, and 2009. Since joining the American Association, the Goldeyes have won two of three postseason series against the RedHawks. Winnipeg swept Fargo-Moorhead 3-0 in the 2012 Division Series on the way to winning the American Association championship. The Goldeyes pulled even in the top of the fourth. Shortstop Adam Hall and first baseman Ray-Patrick Didder walked before second baseman Keshawn Lynch hit a three-run home run to left field. Designated hitter Roby Enríquez gave Winnipeg a 4-3 lead with a solo home run to right field in the fifth. The Goldeyes added two runs in the sixth.
