The left-hander walked two and struck out four. James Colyer allowed one run in the seventh before Suárez (W, 4-0) struck out two in a perfect eighth. Cherry followed with a scoreless ninth. Eric Waldichuk (L, 0-1) was charged with four runs in one-third of an inning for Sioux Falls. Hall led the Goldeyes offensively, going three-for-four with two doubles, three runs scored, and one run batted in. Pelletier was two-for-four with a ground-rule double and two RBIs, while Murphy drove in two runs and stole a base. Lynch added a hit, two runs scored, and an RBI, while García’s infield single tied the game in the seventh. The series continues Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Blue Cross Park.
