Game Score: Kansas City 3, Winnipeg 2

The Winnipeg Goldeyes dropped their home opener to the Kansas City T-Bones on Thursday night, falling 3-2 before 6,232 at Canwest Park.

Kansas City opened the scoring off Bear Bay in the second. Kevin Mahar doubled with one out and scored on a two-out single by Neb Brown. Winnipeg squared it in the bottom of the inning. With the bases loaded and one out, Kevin West tagged up and scored on Brady Everett's sacrifice fly.

The visitors regained the lead in the fourth. With two out and Mahar on second, Craig Hurba drilled one to deep left to make it 3-1. Things stayed that way until the bottom of the eighth. Max Poulin singled with one out and came around to score on a two-out double by Trino Aguilar. But it would get no closer as David Trahan pitched a one-two-three ninth to make a winner of Boughner. Bay took the loss.
