Player Of The Year
Throughout
the 2007 season, votes were placed here and through text messaging by fans for the Goldeyes
Player of the Year presented by Rogers.
Goldeyes shortstop Max Poulin was the overwhelming winner of the Rogers Player of the Year award. The club’s career leader in games played, at-bats and triples, he was hitting .275 prior to August 28 action with six home runs and 41 runs batted in, both career highs.
One of only two Goldeyes to have played in all 89 games prior to Tuesday, Poulin even made his third career pitching appearance earlier this season, tossing an inning of scoreless relief back on June 16 in Calgary.
Voting for the Rogers Player of the Year was conducted two ways. Fan could either cast their ballot by sending in a text message while at a Goldeyes game or do so on-line at goldeyes.com. When the votes were tallied, Poulin won for the second time in three years.
A lucky fan was also selected from all those who voted and received the opportunity to present the Rogers Player of the Year award to Max at the last regular season home game on August 28. That lucky winner was Wendy Seidel, pictured here with Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier, Max Poulin and Rogers director of marketing Grant Wainikka.
