Reading Program
Each year, the Winnipeg Goldeyes Baseball Club and the City
of Winnipeg Library Department team-up for a summer reading program
for elementary school children at a Goldeyes home game promoted
as "Hit the Books with the Goldeyes".
Watch for more information at your local libraries on the Goldeyes
Summer Reading Program.
Goldeyes Caravan
One of the sure signs of the coming baseball season is the
sight of some Goldeyes meeting and greeting their young fans
across
Winnipeg and southern Manitoba.
Each May, before and during training camp, players and coaches
visit schools in the city and in the rural areas of the province
to talk a lot about baseball and a little about life during the
Winnipeg Goldeyes Princess Auto Caravan.
The program has been
in place since 1998 and has seen thousands of students listen
and learn from some athletes who themselves were in school not
that long ago.
For more information on the Winnipeg Goldeyes
Princess Auto Caravan, call the Goldeyes office at 982-2273.
