All-Star Game
Tuesday, July 8 at 7 p.m.
Followed by a Post-Game Party at Club Regent Casino
Like they’ve done since St. Paul hosted the first Northern League All-Star Game in 1997, the best in the NL will gather once more this season and will do so on July 8 at Canwest Park, presented by the Casinos of Winnipeg.
It will be the second time Winnipeg has welcomed the Northern League’s finest, who will be chosen by league managers, general managers and media. Managers of the respective all-star teams will select the pitchers and reserves.
Winnipeg rolled out the red carpet for the first time in 2001, staging the first-ever two-day event. That year, the Eastern Conference erased an early 3-1 deficit to post a 7-4 win over its Central counterparts.
More than 6,900 fans packed the park that night, setting a single-game ballpark record and a Northern League All-Star Game record in the process. Giving that huge crowd plenty of reason to cheer was the sight of nine of their very own Goldeyes taking the field.
Following this year’s all-star game, where the best players from Winnipeg, Fargo and Kansas City will square off against the best from Schaumburg, Joliet and Gary, fans are welcome to stay in their seats for a spectacular display of sound and fury by award-winning Archangel Fireworks. From there, they will have the opportunity of joining the all-stars at Club Regent’s Jaguar Sports Lounge.
Featured Entertainer ... Birdzerk!
Between innings of the All-Star game will feature BirdZerk!, an entertainment whirlybird with more tricks up his feathers than Houdini. Spontaneous, outrageous, cool and capricious, he plays to the crowd with comedic routines honed through hundreds of appearances at ballparks and arenas around the world.
Post-Game Party at Club Regent Casino
Join us after the game at Club Regent Casio for our All-Star wrap-up party.
We'll be adding more details here shortly ... stay tuned!
