Goldeyes acquire Shah

Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today that the baseball club has acquired the playing rights of outfielder Asif Shah from the Normal Cornbelters of the Frontier League for cash.

Shah, 26, led the Cornbelters last year with a .331 average at the plate, while adding 11 home runs and 63 RBI in 95 games. His 26 doubles was fourth in the league.

He still needs to be signed to a contract for the 2012 season.
